| Relay For Life is an American Cancer Society Signature fund raising
event. Together we work to increase cancer awareness, celebrate life, honor survivors and work towards a cure. Relay For Life is a community event that creates a festive atmosphere including team members camping out, enjoying local entertainment, sharing food, playing games, and developing a strong community camaraderie. Here is how you can get involved... |
PARTICIPANTS: |
Teams of 8-15 people from corporations, hospitals, civic groups, neighborhoods, and families take turns in the relay. Teams pledge to have one team member walking or running on the track at all times. |
DONATIONS: |
A participant's goal is to raise a minimum of $100.00 Participants are required to pay a $10.00 commitment fee prior to the event. |
TEAM CHALLENGE: |
Teams are asked to raise a minimum of $1000.00 (based on an average team size of 10 people). There are also games and activities for teams to participate in throughout the night. |
WHY WE DO IT: |
Cancer touches everyone in some way. This is an important opportunity for the entire community to come together for a common cause and get involved. Today, more than one out of two patients diagnosed with cancer survives. That's tremendous progress and this event proclaims that with additional research, CANCER CAN & WILL BE BEATEN! |
