The selector is in the lower left hand corner of the screen where it says select your MIDI here.
The default will always be on "Random Shuffler" when you open this page. This randomly selects a new song every time the page is loaded or if you hit your reload button in Netscape or your refresh button with Microsoft Internet Explorer. If you do nothing but sit patiently the player should randomly pick and play another song. The title of the playing song will show up in the lower right hand corner of the screen along with a condensed version of the Crescendo player if you have the plug-in installed. If you can't see the player, put your mouse cursor in the lower right hand portion of the screen and left click once, then reduce the font size in your browser until you can see it. If a new song does not load a few seconds after a song quits playing click the refresh button in the lower left hand portion of the screen and a new song should load. Remember this is a random player so it could very well select the same song again.
When you're in this mode you can move your cursor underneath the song title, right click, and you will able to see other options and controls. If you're using the Crescendo plug-in you can also detach the player.
Another interesting way to change songs is just to key your back and forward keys in your browser.
If you key on the little down arrow you will next see "Random Pick". This randomly picks a new song from the list anytime you hit the refresh button that is beside it or underneath it. Sometimes you can barely see this button, depending on how you have your fonts set. If you can't see the refresh button, put your mouse cursor in the lower left hand corner of the screen and left click once, then reduce the font size in your browser until you can see the refresh button. "Random Pick" does not show the title of the song playing.
If you arrow down from "Random Pick" you will see a list of songs. Click on any title in this list and that song will play with the player showing up in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
In the middle of the screen you will see a place to type in a URL. It is currently set on our home page as the default. The player will follow you to whatever site you type in and "go" to, and then will continue playing if the site you are going to does not have embedded music.
If the site does have embedded music the random player usually stops until the new sites music has stopped and then the random player will pick another tune. You can then stop-start the players back and forth between songs.
The entire "Random Player" seems to work slightly better with Netscape than MS IE.
"The Random Pick" works intermittently with some versions of MS IE. Sometimes it comes up with a scripting problem error?
I am continually experimenting with this player and will add more instructions as I figure them out.
